GlusterFS clients include FUSE client, libgfapi clients(Samba and NFS-Ganesha included), gNFS server and other glusterfs processes that communicate with bricks like self-heal daemon, quotad, rebalance process etc.
For example, gluster could "fan out" I/O to different gluster servers. The downside would be that the client would need to load and configure gluster. # mount -t glusterfs 127.0.0.1:gserver /mnt Create a large file representing your block device within the gluster fs. In this case, the lun is 2G. (You could also create a gluster "block device" for this purpose, which would skip the file system). # dd if=/dev/zero of=disk3 bs=2G count=25 Add [glusterfs] and [glusterfs_registry] sections with entries for each storage node that will host the GlusterFS storage. For each node, set glusterfs_devices to a list of raw block devices that will be completely managed as part of a GlusterFS cluster.
